The Golden State Warriors forward Anthony Randolph will not be available to play with the team for at least two months. After undergoing an MRI exam Monday on his injured left ankle, Randolph was told that there is a tear of two outside ligaments in the ankle and a sprain in another ligament. Thus he will be wearing a walking boot to protect the ankle for three weeks before being re-evaluated.
Randolph left Friday night’s 108-101 home victory over Sacramento Kings late in the first quarter with the injury. He collapsed to the floor after a guard wearing NO. 13 Kings jersey missed a driving layup at the buzzer and lay on the ground for several moments before teammates helped him off the court.
The second-year pro averaged 11.6 points and a team-leading 6.5 rebounds in 22.7 minutes per game this season. And he had been making positive strides and was given more responsibility recently. ccording to the Cleveland Browns president Mike Holmgren, injured quarterback Brady Quinn may need quite a long time for his foot injury to heal before wearing back his Browns jersey to play football again, but he also believed that the quarterback could avoid surgery that may keep Quinn out for longer time.
Hurting his left foot in a Dec. 20 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, Quinn missed the Browns’ final two games. But the team did not give specifics of Quinn’s injury until Holmgren, who took over the club’s football operations last week, provided the most detailed update on Monday. Holmgren said he met with the team’s medical staff and was told Quinn needs time for his injury to heal but would likely be able to avoid surgery.
Opening the season as Browns starting quarterback, Quinn was benched after 10 quarters. He was given back the job but continued to fail expectation, going 2-7 in the nine games he started. All through the season he had only totally 136 of 256 (53 percent) for 1,339 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.
